6 Day Turkmenistan Tour

Join us on this 6-day journey through Turkmenistan, one of the world’s most enigmatic and least-visited countries. From the stunning white marble city of Ashgabat to the fiery Darwaza Crater in the Karakum Desert, this itinerary combines architectural marvels, cultural immersion, and breathtaking natural landscapes for an unforgettable adventure.

Day 1: Departure to Ashgabat

• Depart for Ashgabat, the capital city, on your preferred flight: FZ 731 (departing 23:55, arriving 03:25+1) or TK 322 (departing 20:10, arriving 01:55+1).
• Upon arrival, meet your guide and transfer to your hotel for a restful overnight stay.

Day 2: Ashgabat City Tour

After breakfast, embark on a city tour exploring Ashgabat’s extraordinary blend of tradition and modernity. Visit iconic landmarks, including:

• Neutrality Arch: A towering symbol of Turkmenistan’s political stance, topped with a golden statue.

• Independence Park: Home to monuments and fountains showcasing national pride.
• Constitution Monument: Looming over Ashgabat.

• Ertogrul Gazi Mosque: A grand Ottoman-style mosque with intricate architecture.

• Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant offering delicious Turkmen cuisine.

• In the afternoon, explore the Russian Bazaar and shop for local crafts and souvenirs.

Day 3: Day Trip to Ashgabat’s Surroundings

• Visit the majestic Geok Depe Memorial Mosque, a site of historical and spiritual significance.

• Take a refreshing dip in the warm, mineral-rich waters of the Kowata Underground Lake.

• Journey to the remote Nohur Mountain Village to discover its unique tribal cemetery adorned with ram horns and the village’s traditional silk weaving techniques.

Overnight: Hotel, Ashgabat

Day 4: Ashgabat to Darwaza – The Gates of Hell

• After breakfast, visit a private Akhalteke Horse Farm near Anau to learn about Turkmenistan’s "heavenly horses."

• Stop at the historic Anau Mosque and Fortress to admire its ancient architecture.
• After lunch, embark on an exciting journey to the Darwaza Gas Crater, stopping to see a bubbling mud crater and a shimmering water crater.

• Arrive at Darwaza just before sunset to witness the fiery “Gates of Hell” glowing against the desert night sky.

• Enjoy a BBQ dinner and an unforgettable overnight stay in a traditional yurt.

Day 5: Darwaza to Ashgabat

• Start the day with breakfast in the desert before driving back to Ashgabat.

• En route, stop at the vibrant Sunday Bazaar to shop for local goods and experience the lively market atmosphere.

• Spend the afternoon at leisure, relaxing or exploring Ashgabat’s marble-clad streets.

Overnight: Hotel, Ashgabat

Day 6: Farewell to Turkmenistan

• Transfer from your hotel to the airport for your departure flight: TK 323 (departing 03:20) or FZ 732 (departing 04:55).
• Reflect on the unforgettable experiences of this journey through one of the world’s most unique destinations.

Rates

Rates are based per person, on the total number of travellers in your group and on the hotel you will stay at in Ashgabat.
